Settee

We need a place to hangout when the little one is in bed. She has to have her door open at night. The dining room is the perfect place because it's on the other side of the house. The only problem is we don't use it as much as we would if it were more comfortable. I have always loved dining rooms with a settee and it would be a perfect solution for making our room more versatile.

I started looking on Craigslist and I finally found one. Knowing it would need to be reupholstered or slipcovered I wanted to find a great deal on a quality piece.

So here she is in all her blue velvet glory for $75.00.

I'm thinking a slipcover would be a practical choice or maybe indoor outdoor fabric and painting the legs.
What do you think?

  4. What a great find~ that settee is too cool! I would just slipcover it in a heavy duty linen fabric or even drop cloth fabric. Thanks for visiting me and congrats on the new blog- it's wonderful so far! :-)

  5. What a great bargain. One of those shapes that never loses its appeal. I actually love it turquoise, but I would love to see her in stripes, sorta balance out her sexy curves. Keep us posted.

  6. Is it weird that I like it at-is? That color is divine! It might be fun to just have the seat cushion re-done in some type of contrasting fabric, as it does look like it has seen better days. Then add a couple of pillows. Voila!

  11. Why oh why sweet Lousiville do you lack a worthy Craigslist? I keep looking and searching and hoping..but all the sales are fot brass halogen lamps, bulky oak bedroom sets, and questionable couch pieces from the 80s. How I envy your find! Have fun with that delightful treasure.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I am glad we got to "meet."

    Cheers~
