A Few Snippets

Thank you everyone for the Birthday wishes last week! We had the social at a cool ice cream Shoppe nearby.

It was a bit chilly to eat outside in the courtyard but nice enough for a little pinata fun afterwards.

I used Martha Stewart stickers and some ribbon to spruce up the party hats a bit.

And I was pretty excited when I found the ice cream cone nail polish and erasers for the goodie bags. Mr. 65th Avenue surprised me by making a CD compilation with the little ones face on the cover. Too cute!

For the table centerpiece we made some easy edible flowers out of construction paper.

The weekend was a lot of fun and now we officially have a four year old!

  4. So cute! I always went a little crazy when I would plan my daughter's b-days. I found I really enjoyed getting creative and coming up with different ideas for favors and decorations. I would always bake this big elaborate cake. One year it was a 7 layered castle cake, the next a dragon cake. Now, I am not a baker but couldn't stop myself! I was of course up till 1 a.m. the night before the party!

It is so much fun having a little one to do this for. Now it is roller blading parties or laser tag. I still find ways to sneak in a bit of creative fun! Enjoy her 4 years of age!

  5. Okay, I think I lived down the street from that for 9 years!? And grew up less than a handful of miles away. I don't know why I never thought to have a party there but what a great idea! And I think we may just be neighbors :)

  6. Thanks for the comment on my blog! So glad to meet another chicago area blogger! I actually grew up in Orland Park (so close to Plush Horse - which is delicious!). My husband and I now live in the city. Love your blog!
